Welcome
The programme offered by the Master 2 « Juriste d’affaires franco-anglais » is widely focusing on comparative law. Its objective is to educate students who aspire to become law practitioners and business lawyers able to work within large international corporations and law firms operating on an international basis in Paris, Europe or in the United States.
In general, French students with a high English level can apply to the programme. Foreign students who wish to complete their academic background in France can also send their application. These two communities will, as a result, foster a sort of synergy.
The Master 2 Juriste d’affaires franco-anglais has maintained partnerships with French Business Schools over the past 15 years, already established by its former members. Students from various backgrounds will benefit from classes given at the Jean Monnet Faculty of Law (2/3) and from classes given at Business Schools (ESSEC, ESCP Europe, EDHEC).

(Promotion 2011-2012)
The rich and wide range of lessons taught by Professors is linked to the excellence and its composition, namely, a great majority of academics also conducting a professional career in the legal or judiciary sector. With a comprehensive set of theoretical and practical lessons in business and tax law, the programme aims at mastering all the essential financial and procedural tools.
Without being exclusive, Corporate Law, Tax Law, Contract Law and Arbitration are fundamental in order to acquire solid basics in dominant systems in French, European and Anglo-American business law.
Considering that English is the prevailing language in international business law, more than 1/3 of classes are taught in English.
As part of the programme, students will have to complete an internship and submit a thesis.
The transition between the academic and professional worlds being facilitated, graduates of the Master 2 Juriste d’affaires franco-anglais will be able to start a career in global law firms, Anglo-American law firms established in France or international corporations. In effect, these firms increasingly hire young jurists or lawyers who are required to have deep knowledge of French business law in addition to understanding (even master) Anglo-American contractual law, and, finally, being capable of handling European and North-American business law.
or the past 4 years, the Master 2 Juriste d’affaires franco-anglais has been closely supported by its Association. It is conducted by the present students of the program, whereby alumni remain members of the Association. Thanks to the dynamism of the 2011 Association, the Fidal-Paris XI Challenge of the best team in business and tax law was put in place. Following a pleading process, the winning team earns several prizes.
